SOUNDS OF CENTERRA CONCERTS BEGIN JULY 19 First summer concert series at Centerra kicks off at Chapungu Sculpture Park

LOVELAND, CO – JULY 3, 2008 – Jazzy funk, country melodies, and oldies but goodies are just a few of the musical beats to sway through Chapungu Sculpture Park at the first Sounds of Centerra summer concert series beginning Saturday, July 19 at 7:30 p.m.  The concert stage is located at the northwest end of Chapungu Sculpture Park, east of The Promenade Shops at Centerra (east of Macy’s). Admission to Sounds of Centerra is free.

Occurring every Saturday in mid-July through August 23, the musical line-up at Sounds of Centerra provides a wide variety of genres that will offer the listener traditional tunes and worldly ensembles in addition to up-and-coming local talents.

The 2008 Sounds of Centerra summer concert series includes:

July 19: Set Forth – pop, rock, jazz-funk inspired

July 26: Kutandara – African marimba troupe

August 2: Kort McCumber & McCumberland Gap – Americana, folk, country blues/bluegrass

August 9: Kelly Aspen (presented by Medical Center of the Rockies) – country, bluegrass, rock

August 16: The Loveland Orchestra (presented by the Residence Inn, Hampton Inn, and Fairfield Inn) – classical music

August 23: Kenny Cordova & The Olde Rock Band – rock-n-roll oldies, Motown, country

Concert goers are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets for seating on the lawn. Paciugo Italian Gelato will be offering their creamy creations for purchase.

Presenting sponsors of Sounds of Centerra include Medical Center of the Rockies, Residence Inn, Hampton Inn, and the Fairfield Inn. Contributing sponsors of Sounds of Centerra include Shaped Music, Alphagraphics, Rock Bottom Brewery, Biaggi's Ristorante Italiano, and P.F. Chang's China Bistro.

Alcoholic beverages and other glass containers are prohibited at the park.
