FIBERSPAR SELECTS McWHINNEY’S IRON HORSE DEVELOPMENT

JOHNSTOWN, COLO. – May 22, 2012 – Fiberspar Corporation, an industry leader in composite, spoolable pipe for the oil and gas industry, announced it will open a 165,000 square‐foot sales and distribution center at Iron Horse. Iron Horse, a new McWhinney development, is a 165‐acre mixed‐use business park located in Johnstown, Colo., located at the heart of Interstate 25 and Highway 34 interchange and alongside the Great Western and Union Pacific railways.

Headquartered in Houston, Texas, Fiberspar manufactures high strength, fiber‐reinforced, corrosion-resistant tubular products suitable for sour or sweet gas, oil, or multi‐phase gathering applications and high‐pressure water or CO2 injection.

“We’re extremely excited to expand our operations in Northern Colorado,” said Peter Quigley, Fiberspar chief executive officer. “The location gives us and our clients a number of transportation options, and puts us close to important markets such as Denver, Fort Collins, Loveland and Boulder to draw for our employee base. And the close proximity to Centerra’s tremendous retail and dining amenities, in addition to nearby local transportation systems, made Iron Horse Business Park an ideal location to service our customers.”

Fiberspar selected McWhinney as the build‐to‐suit developer for its distribution facility that will sit on a 17‐acre site located just east of the current FedEx Distribution Center at Iron Horse. The new building will consist of 165,000 square feet, 6,000 square feet of which will serve as office space.

“Fiberspar has been an incredible success story, and demand for its high‐strength fiber‐reinforced products for the oil‐and‐gas industry is incredibly high,” said Dave Hagan, McWhinney senior vice president, real estate development. “We are thrilled that after diligently reviewing a number of options, Fiberspar selected McWhinney and Iron Horse as they continue to expand their operations.”

A number of entities were involved in helping create the agreement between Fiberspar and McWhinney, including the Town of Johnstown, commercial real‐estate firm CBRE, construction loan provider Guaranty Bank, project architect WareMalcomb and general contractor Murray & Stafford. Additionally, Mike Camp, Murray Platt, Jim Bolt and Bill Thompson served as the tenant representatives.

“The announcement of Fiberspar coming to Johnstown is not only significant for our town but also the region,” said Mark Romanowski, Johnstown Mayor. “Retaining a high‐caliber, growing company in Northern Colorado is important to our community and will enable Fiberspar employees to shop, dine, recreate, work and live in our city and surrounding areas, which adds to the vibrancy and energy around the US 34 and I‐25 interchange.”

“The success of this project is a result of the close and cooperative relationship between the client Fiberspar, the Town of Johnstown and McWhinney,” said Murray Platt, CBRE vice president. “It is very exciting to see this come together quickly to meet Fiberspar’s requirements. McWhinney had the available shovel‐ready site and has a proven track record to deliver a product of this size within the aggressive construction timeframe required. Fiberspar’s growing presence will continue to provide tremendous benefit to the local and regional economy.”

An official ground breaking event is scheduled at noon on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at the project site located just east of County Road 3 and Ronald Reagan Boulevard in Johnstown. For more information, contact McWhinney at 970.962.9990.
